stablished in 1996 under the Doğan Media Group and opening its first store in 1997, D&R aims to encourage “everyone to discover, enjoy, and share the richness offered by the world of culture and entertainment more frequently, easily, and qualitatively, bringing people together on a shared platform and enriching every moment of life.” With 151 stores across 28 cities in Turkey, D&R offers a wide range of products, aiming to provide its customers with a unique experience in accessing cultural and entertainment products. Since its foundation, D&R has continuously worked to optimize its business processes for maximum efficiency.
To establish a secure, centralized, and flexible infrastructure that meets all analytical needs, D&R selected D-CAT Technologies’ Business Intelligence team for this project.
The project began in August 2016, with the first phase involving meetings with users to identify D&R’s current needs. Following the needs analysis, the data structure was modeled, and SAP BW on HANA developments were initiated. After completing the BW developments, analytical interfaces were developed for users through SAP BusinessObjects.
In early January 2017, the project went live successfully, delivering the following outcomes:
- Centralized Analytics: D&R started meeting all analytical needs from a single centralized platform.
- Access Control: User access to data was managed through authorization settings.
- Audit Logs: Existing reports began to be logged using audit reports.
- Data Consistency: A centralized system ensured consistent and unified data across all reports.
- Automated Reporting: The scheduling feature of SAP BusinessObjects enabled automatic distribution of standard reports throughout the day, eliminating manual follow-up workloads for users.
Collaborating with one of the industry’s largest companies, D-CAT Technologies’ Business Intelligence team celebrates the successful completion of this project and looks forward to gaining further experience across new sectors.
